Storage Resources
The storage and management of large amounts of data is becomming an increasingly important facet of many research activities. More complex simulations, higher resolution sensors and increasing availability of imaging equipment are just some of the causes of the rapidly increasing quantums of data.
A core activity of the e-INIS project is the development of a federated national data store designed to extend support for data-driven and data-intensive research in Ireland.
The storage equipment is distributed across three physical sites and is made available to the national research community on an equitable basis.
